Description: Tanglewood Publishing was founded in 2003 by Peggy Tierney. An independent publisher based in Indianapolis, Tanglewood boasts a roster of award-winning authors and illustrators including Audrey Penn, Marie LeTourneau, and Mike Mullin. In every Tanglewood book readers will find a sense of comfort that comes with being seen and understood. Through humor, adventure, disaster, disappointment, friendship, and love, Tanglewood brings the authentic young reader’s voice to the forefront for an unforgettable page-turning experience, opening up the doors to more adventures rooted in more pages.

We are looking to add a spring marketing intern to the Tanglewood team starting at the beginning of January 2018. As Tanglewood is based in Indianapolis, yet has their marketing department in New York, this intern can work remotely. The position calls for an organized, detail-oriented professional who can devote a minimum of 10 hours/week of their time to a plethora of tasks including (but not limited to):

• Assisting with creating content for and increasing engagement on Tanglewood Publishing social media pages

• Facilitating the preparation and coordination of conference visits

• Conducting research on and coordinating outreach to schools, museums, and libraries for Tanglewood titles

• Identifying appropriate awards for Tanglewood titles for submission

• Brainstorming interesting marketing initiatives for upcoming titles as well as ways to boost the presence of backlist titles
Length of Internship: Minimum of 12 weeks
Requirements: • Once a week in-person or Skype mandatory meetings

• Knowledge of and comfort with utilizing different social media platforms

• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills

• Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional

• Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established deadlines

• Able to assimilate information from various sources and prepare clear communication in either a verbal or written manner

• Able to work alone and/or with others in a team environment with minimum supervision

• Genuine interest in children's literature
Location: remote - we will consider applicants from any state, but put special consideration to Indiana and New York
