Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: The college division at W. W. Norton & Company is seeking a spring intern (January–April) to assist with editorial projects in the Composition and Literature departments. The internship will offer insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities will vary, but will include assisting with researching market data, organizing book reviews, performing database work, assisting with various stages of production, and performing other administrative tasks.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: Candidates should have strong research and writing skills, be detail-oriented and organized, be comfortable working independently in an office environment, and have an interest in learning about textbook publishing. Those with an interest in writing and rhetoric are especially encouraged to apply.
Specific work hours are flexible, but interns usually work 3 or 4 days per week for a total of 20 hours over a 3-month period. Juniors, seniors, and recent college graduates preferred. The start date is also flexible, but applicants should be available to begin by mid-January.
Location: New York, NY
Payment: $13/hour
