Company Name: W. W. NORTON & COMPANY
Description: W. W. Norton & Company is seeking an editorial intern to assist the College Psychology department this spring. The internship will provide insight into the editorial, marketing, and sales aspects of textbook publishing. Responsibilities vary but will include assisting with manuscript review programs and the preparation of manuscripts and ancillary materials for production, researching market data and competition, and performing administrative tasks such as drafting check requests and printing and scanning documents. This is not a writing or editing internship, but strong writing and proofreading skills are a must.
Length of Internship: 3 months, 20 hours per week
Requirements: The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, independent, and eager to learn in an academic publishing environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is required. A background in psychology or the sciences, though not essential, is preferred.

The internship will begin in mid to late January. Specific work hours are flexible, but interns usually work 3 or 4 days per week for a total of 20 hours over a 3-month period. Rising seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
