Title: Senior Publicist
Description: We opened our doors in 2006 committed to bringing the world a broad mix of books. With forty-six New York Times bestsellers, more than 6,000 books on our backlist, and over 900 titles planned over the next year, we've shown no signs of slowing down since 2011, when Publishers Weekly called us the fastest-growing small publisher in America. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Publicity team!

As Senior Publicist you are responsible for conducting book and author publicity tasks further detailed below on assigned titles at a senior level of expertise, instructing and mentoring junior staff, and advancing the company’s digital publicity strategy.

Responsibilities Include:
•Formulate and execute publicity plans at a high level of mastery
•Formulate and implement digital publicity strategy
•Create polished press releases, e-blasts, reports, and other materials
•Craft and pitch appropriate media in all various forms
•Liaison with authors, agents, vendors, key media independently
•Attend author and industry events
•Establish network of professional book media contacts
•Target media opportunities to drive greater sales

General responsibilities for all employees with direct/indirect reports:

Ensure familiarity with all company policies.

Time management:

•Promptly report any inability to execute a job function/process to your manager.
•Meet all deadlines and project goals in a timely manner.

•Keep manager abreast of all issues/concerns/problems with project status.
•Hold progress updates with your manager.

Problem solving:

•Practice solution driven problem solving.

Goal setting and measurement:

•Set expectations for your staff/team.
•Complete and communicate performance reviews with reports in accordance with company policy.
•Recommend and guide career development movement for your staff/team and communicate to your manager.

Other responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
